Wedding Signs, Printed From Your Design

Most couples don't need a designer. They've already found the sign they want — bought from Etsy, put together in Canva, or made by a friend who's good with fonts. What they need is someone to print it properly.

That's this. Upload your finished design and we'll print it on 5mm foam board in A1 or A2, ready to go on an easel at the venue. No minimum order, so one welcome sign is as straightforward as a full set.

What Couples Use Them For

• Welcome signs — names, date, and a line of greeting at the entrance. The board that appears in most of the arrival photographs.

• Directional signs — ceremony this way, reception through there. Especially useful at larger or split-level venues.

Already Bought a Design on Etsy?

Plenty of our wedding boards start life as an Etsy purchase. The seller supplies a digital file, you supply it to us, and we print it.

Two things worth checking before you order:

Is it the right size? Many Etsy templates are sold at US sizes — 18x24 inches or 24x36 — rather than A1 or A2. Printing a US-size file at A2 means either white edges or content being cropped. Most sellers will supply an A-size version if you ask.

Is it a PDF at full size? A JPEG exported for screen will look soft when printed at A1. You want a print-ready PDF at 300dpi.

If you're unsure, send it over — we check every file before printing and will tell you if there's a problem.

Sizes

• A2 (420 x 594mm) — the smaller option. Good for directional signs, order of the day, bar menus, or a welcome sign at an intimate venue.
• A1 (594 x 841mm) — twice the area, and the size most couples choose for a main welcome sign at the entrance.

If the board will be in the photographs — and a welcome sign almost always is — A1 has more presence and reads properly from across a room. A2 does the job well for the smaller signs placed around the venue.

Gloss or Matt?

Both protect the board and both look good. The difference matters more at a wedding than most places, because of the photographs.

Matt has no shine. It won't reflect venue spotlights, window light or a photographer's flash, so it photographs cleanly from any angle. If the sign is going to appear in your photos, matt is the safer choice.

Gloss deepens colour and gives a crisper, more vivid finish in person. Worth it where the design is rich in colour and the sign is somewhere without harsh lighting.

Most wedding venues are lit with spotlights or have large windows, which is why we'd usually suggest matt.

The Board

Printed on 5mm solid PVC foam board — rigid enough to stand on an easel without bowing, but light enough that one person can carry and position it without help.

It's a solid board rather than a paper-faced foam, so it won't dent if it's knocked and the edges stay clean. It's also water-resistant, which matters at barn, marquee and garden venues where a sign might sit near an open doorway.

Boards are supplied printed only. Easels aren't included — most venues have them, and if not they're widely available to hire or buy.

When to Order

Production takes 2 working days from receipt of your file, with delivery on top. That's quick, but it's worth ordering a fortnight or so ahead rather than the week of the wedding.

Welcome signs, directional boards and order of the day boards can all be ordered early — the details on them don't change. Leave anything dependent on final guest numbers until later.

Free templates are available for both sizes.

One thing worth knowing about colour: designs created on screen are in RGB, and printing converts them to CMYK. Very bright or neon shades — particularly vivid blues and hot pinks — will print slightly more muted than they appear on a screen. Soft, muted and metallic-effect palettes, which most wedding stationery uses, reproduce accurately.

Every file is checked by a real person before printing, so obvious problems get flagged. We don't make changes or fixes to artwork — files should be supplied print-ready.

Turnaround & Delivery

Production takes 2 working days from receipt of artwork. Turnaround covers production only — delivery is on top of that.

UK delivery is £6.50 per order, reflecting the size of the boards. Collection from our Burnley production facility is also available.
