The Sign That Stands Up On Its Own

A tent card needs no stand, no easel and no wall. It folds into a triangle, sits on a table, and reads from both sides — which makes it the simplest way to put a message where people are already sitting.

Printed Both Faces From One Side

Worth explaining, because "single sided" sounds like half the card is blank.

A tent card is printed flat as one piece and then folded. The front and back of the finished tent are both on the same face of the sheet — one at the top, one at the bottom, upside down relative to each other. When it folds, both come out the right way up.

So a single sided tent card is printed on both visible faces. The only unprinted surface is the inside, which nobody sees.

Sizes

• A5 (148 x 210mm) — the standard table tent. Big enough to read from across a table and to carry a proper message, offer or menu section.
• A6 (105 x 148mm) — more compact. Suits smaller tables, place settings, or anywhere several cards sit together without crowding.

The size given is the flat sheet before folding — a folded A5 tent stands roughly half that height.

Lamination

Available in gloss or matt, applied to the printed face.

Gloss deepens colour and gives a wipeable surface. Worth having in a food setting where cards get handled with sticky fingers and need cleaning between services.

Matt is flatter and more understated, and cuts glare under downlights — which most restaurants and bars have.

Both add durability. A tent card on a table gets knocked, spilled on and picked up constantly, and an unlaminated card starts looking tired within a fortnight in a busy venue.

Supplied Pre-Creased and Taped

Cards arrive flat, scored along the fold lines, with double sided tape already applied to the tab.

That means assembly takes a couple of seconds per card — fold along the creases, peel the backing, press the tab. No glue, no scoring by hand, and no cracked folds from creasing a 350gsm board without a proper crease.

Shipping flat also keeps delivery cost and packaging down, and they store flat until you need them.

Designing a Tent Card

Remember the fold. Our template shows where the crease falls and which way up each panel sits. Both halves of the artwork are on the same sheet, with one rotated 180 degrees — the template handles that, but don't try to build it from scratch without one.

Keep content clear of the crease. Anything crossing the fold gets interrupted, and on a laminated 350gsm board the crease is visible.

Read from a metre away. A tent card is read by someone sitting at the table, not standing over it. Type that looks fine on screen at full size can be small in practice — worth printing a test at actual size before committing to a large run.
