Student Poster Printing

Academic, dissertation and conference posters in A2, A1 and A0 — printed in 2 working days.

Posters for Dissertations, Conferences and Presentations

Academic posters have a job to do. They need to be legible from a few feet away in a busy hall, hold up to a day of being carried between sessions, and look like the work behind them was taken seriously.

We print student posters in full colour on high-resolution presses, trimmed to size, in A2, A1 and A0. Whether it's a dissertation poster, a conference submission, a research showcase or a poster competition entry, the output meets the standard universities expect.

Sizes Available

  • A2 — 420 x 594mm. The most compact option, suited to smaller displays and boards where space is tight.
  • A1 — 594 x 841mm. The most common size for conference and dissertation posters, and the safe default if your department hasn't specified.
  • A0 — 841 x 1189mm. The largest, and often the requirement for scientific and medical conferences. Check your submission guidelines before ordering, as many specify A0.

Posters are supplied rolled or flat depending on size and finish.

Gloss Lamination

Gloss lamination is available on all three sizes. It lifts colour saturation and adds a protective layer, which is worth considering if your poster is travelling to a conference, being handled repeatedly, or displayed for more than a day. For a single presentation and straight back in the tube, unlaminated is usually enough.

Turnaround & Delivery

All student poster orders are completed within 2 working days of receiving your artwork.

Collect from our Burnley production facility, or choose delivery to any UK address. Delivery is charged at checkout based on size and destination.

If you're working to a submission deadline, order with a few days' margin — 2 working days is production time, and delivery is on top of that.

All artwork should be supplied as a print-ready PDF or JPEG at the correct finished size, with 3mm bleed on all sides.

Free blank templates are available for A2, A1 and A0 to help you set your poster up correctly.

A note on resolution: charts, graphs and figures exported from Word, Excel or PowerPoint are often screen resolution and will look soft when scaled to A0. Export at 300dpi at full size rather than scaling up a smaller image.

FAQs

What size should my academic poster be?
A1 is the most common for dissertation and conference posters, but many scientific and medical conferences specify A0. Check your submission guidelines first, as requirements vary by department and event.

Do I need gloss lamination?
Not necessarily. It's worth it if the poster is travelling, being handled repeatedly, or on display for more than a day. For a single presentation, unlaminated is usually fine.

How long will it take?
Production is 2 working days from receiving your artwork. If you're collecting from Burnley that's your total wait; if you're having it delivered, allow additional time for the courier.

Will my poster arrive rolled or flat?
That depends on size and finish. Larger and laminated posters are typically supplied rolled.

What file format do you need?
A print-ready PDF or JPEG at 300dpi, set up at the correct finished size with 3mm bleed. Templates are available above for all three sizes.

Can I collect instead of paying for delivery?
Yes. Collection from our Burnley facility is available, which avoids delivery charges entirely.
