The Display With No Visible Frame

A roller banner has a cassette at the bottom and a pole up the back. A pop-up has visible panel joins. Both are fine, and both look like display kit.

An SEG display doesn't. The fabric graphic has a silicone strip sewn into its edge, which pushes into a channel running round the aluminium frame. The fabric tensions taut and the frame disappears behind it — what you see is an edge-to-edge printed panel, standing on its own.

What SEG Actually Means

Silicone Edge Graphic. The fabric is cut, then a thin silicone bead is sewn all the way round the perimeter. That bead slots into a groove in the frame extrusion and holds under tension.

Three practical consequences:

No visible hardware. No pole pockets, no eyelets, no clips, no cassette. The graphic finishes flush with the frame edge.

No creases. The fabric is held taut on all four sides rather than hanging, so it sits flat and photographs cleanly.

Graphics swap in minutes. Press the silicone bead out of the channel, press the new one in. Anyone can do it — no installer, no tools.

Sizes

• 0.85m × 2m — the narrowest. Sits comfortably in a shell scheme slot or beside a counter without crowding it.
• 1m × 2m — the general-purpose size, and the closest direct replacement for a roller banner.
• 1.5m × 2m — noticeably wider, and the one to choose where the display is the main visual rather than one element of a stand.

All three stand 2m tall. The aluminium extrusion is 40mm thick, which keeps the whole thing light enough to carry.

Two Graphics, Included

Every display comes with two printed graphics as standard, not one.

That's worth understanding before you order, because it changes what you can do:

Two different designs — one for each face, making it genuinely double sided. Right for a display standing in open floor space where people approach from both directions.

The same design twice — identical front and back, so the display reads the same from either side.

Or one now, one later — fit one and keep the second for a different event, a different message, or as a spare when the first gets marked.

Why Choose This Over a Roller Banner

Honest comparison, because they compete for the same job.

A roller banner sets up faster, costs less, and needs no assembly at all. If you need something up in thirty seconds at the lowest price, that's the answer.

An SEG display looks considerably better. No cassette, no curl at the edges, no glare off PVC under exhibition lighting, and a properly finished edge. It also costs less to refresh — a replacement graphic folds into a jiffy bag and posts, where a replacement roller banner means new hardware or a re-skinning job.

If the display goes out a few times a year and appearance matters, SEG. If it's occasional and budget-driven, a roller banner does the job.

Assembly

The frame is supplied in sections with feet, and goes together in minutes with no tools.

Fitting the graphic takes a little practice the first time. Start at one corner, work the silicone bead into the channel along each edge, and finish at the corner you started from. Don't stretch it tight as you go — ease it in and let the tension do the work at the end. Pulled too hard from one side, the graphic sits skewed and you'll be starting again.

A carry bag is included for the frame and graphics.

The Fabric

Display/Stretch Polyester, dye-sublimation printed on a VUTEk FabriVU 340 and finished in-house.

Dye-sublimation puts the ink into the fibres rather than on the surface, so colour is rich and the finish is completely matt — no sheen to catch venue lighting, which is the main reason fabric beats PVC on an exhibition stand.

Designing for a Tensioned Edge

One thing to avoid, and it's specific to SEG.

Don't use a framed border, or any design element that depends on a consistent distance from the edge. Fabric moves slightly during printing, cutting, sewing and tensioning, so a border that's 20mm from the edge in the file can end up 18mm on one side and 22mm on the other. On a plain background nobody notices. On a border, everybody does.

Designs that run to the edge, or that keep content well inside the safe area, avoid the problem entirely.

Artwork Requirements

• Supply at the exact size of the template — set at 100% scale
• Fonts outlined, images embedded
• All design elements on the Design layer — the guide layer is non-printing, so anything placed there won't appear
• Background running to the bleed line, important content inside the safe area
• Remove all template guide lines, crop marks and registration marks
• PDF preferred, AI or EPS also accepted
• No Pantone colours — dye-sublimation can't reproduce them, so convert to CMYK first

Free templates are available for all three sizes. Check the exported file before sending — the non-printing layer catches people out.

Every file is checked by a real person before printing, so obvious problems get flagged. We don't make changes or fixes to artwork — files should be supplied print-ready.

Replacement Graphics

This is where SEG earns its money over time.

Replacement graphics fold flat and post in a jiffy bag. They're fitted by whoever's on site, in minutes, with no installer and no tools. A rebrand, a new campaign or a marked graphic means a print, not a new display.

The aluminium frame will outlast several graphics comfortably.
