Advertising That Goes Up With the Scaffold

Scaffolding is the most visible thing on a street. It's up for weeks, it's at eye level, and everyone walking or driving past looks at it. A sign fixed to it puts your name in front of an audience you'd otherwise pay to reach.

Our scaffold signs are 900 x 600mm, printed double sided on rigid 10mm PVC Foamex, CNC cut to fit the supplied steel frame. Complete with fixing brackets, ready to clamp straight onto the tube.

Why 10mm Board Rather Than Correx

Most cheap scaffold signage is 4mm Correx cable-tied to the frame. It flexes in the wind, the ties cut through the flutes, and within a month it's flapping, torn at the fixing points or gone entirely.

10mm PVC Foamex is a different material altogether. It's rigid, so it doesn't flex or drum in the wind. It's solid PVC rather than corrugated, so there's nothing to tear along. And because it's CNC routed to fit the frame precisely, it clamps in place under tension rather than hanging off ties.

The finished panel carries a gloss UV-protective laminate, which is what stops reds and blues fading to pastel over a summer on a south-facing elevation.

Double Sided as Standard

Both faces are printed, at no extra cost.

That matters more on scaffolding than most places. A scaffold on a street corner, a terraced row or anywhere with traffic in two directions is seen from both approaches. A single sided sign is invisible to half the people who pass it.

Where the scaffold sits flat against a wall and only one face is visible, the second side simply isn't seen — but it's there either way, and it means the same sign works whichever way round it's mounted on the next job.

The Steel Frame

Supplied with a heavy-duty steel frame and fixing brackets, designed to clamp directly onto scaffold tube.

The frame is the part that makes this a reusable asset rather than a disposable one. Boards can be replaced independently — order a new panel when your branding changes or the sign gets damaged, and keep the frame you already own.

Once clamped, the panel is held on all four edges rather than hanging from two fixing points, which is why these stay put in weather that would take a cable-tied board off the scaffold.

• Roofers — the scaffold goes up for the job anyway, so the advertising is free of any additional access cost.
• Builders and extension specialists — visible for the whole duration of a build.
• Rendering, pointing and external wall contractors — work that neighbours look at and often want quoting on themselves.
• Window and door installers — where access equipment is already in place.
• Main contractors — site identification and safety information alongside branding.

Designing a Scaffold Sign

A scaffold sign is read from the pavement or from a passing car, usually at an upward angle and from twenty feet or more. That's a harder read than most signage.

Trade, name, number. Three things. Everything else competes with them and wins nothing.

Make the phone number huge. It's the only element that turns a passer-by into a call. If someone has to squint at it from across the road, it may as well not be there.

Note the 20mm safe zone. That's larger than most of our products, because the frame overlaps the panel edge. Anything within 20mm of the edge disappears behind the frame once it's clamped in.
