Roller Banners Built to Keep Going

Most roller banners are bought for one event and survive about five. The graphic is rarely the problem — it's the base. Lightweight cassettes flex, the foot loses stability after repeated setups, and the mechanism starts to snag.

Our premium roller banners use a heavier, weightier cassette designed for banners that go out regularly rather than sitting in a cupboard between annual trade shows. They come with a padded carry bag rather than a basic sleeve, so the unit survives transport as well as use.

What Makes It Premium

Two things, and both matter more than they sound.

The cassette is heavier. Weight in the base is what keeps a two-metre banner standing steady rather than rocking when someone walks past or brushes against it. A heavier housing also takes the strain of repeated roll-ups without the mechanism wearing.

The carry bag is padded. Most damage to a roller banner happens in transit, not in use — in a car boot, a van, or being carried between halls. A proper padded bag protects both the cassette and the rolled graphic inside it.

If the banner is going out a couple of times a year, our standard range is perfectly adequate. If it's in and out of a vehicle most weeks, this is the one that lasts.

Sizes

All banners stand 2000mm tall. Three widths available:

• 800 x 2000mm — the standard UK roller banner width, and what most exhibition spaces are laid out around.
• 850 x 2000mm — marginally wider, useful when artwork needs a little more room without changing footprint significantly.
• 1000 x 2000mm — noticeably wider. Good where the banner stands alone rather than in a row, or where the design is image-led.

The cassette supplied matches the width you choose.

The Print Material

Printed on 330gsm grey-back PVC.

The grey backing blocks light from behind. Without it, a banner in front of a window or a lit stand shows through and colours wash out. It also keeps the material opaque so nothing ghosts through from the reverse.

At 330gsm the material has genuine weight. It hangs flat rather than curling at the edges — a common failure on lighter film banners after repeated roll-ups — and resists creasing and tearing in transit. The non-reflective surface reads cleanly under exhibition lighting without glaring in photographs.

Designing Your Banner

Two things are worth knowing before you set up artwork at this size.

The bottom of the banner disappears. Roughly 100mm rolls into the cassette, and at an exhibition the lower third is usually blocked by tables, people and other stands. Keep logos, headlines and contact details in the top two thirds, and treat the bottom section as decorative rather than functional.

Resolution matters more than you'd expect. An image that looks sharp on screen is being enlarged to two metres tall. Check photographs are genuinely high resolution at full size rather than scaled up — it's the most common reason a banner arrives looking soft.

Artwork Requirements

Supply a print-ready PDF at your chosen finished size, in CMYK. Include bleed as specified in the template for your width, keep essential content clear of the bottom 100mm, and outline or embed your fonts.

Free templates are available for all three widths.

Every file is checked by a real person before printing, so obvious problems get flagged. We don't make changes or fixes to artwork — files should be supplied print-ready.

Turnaround & Delivery

Choose a 1 working day turnaround for urgent orders, or 3–4 working days as standard. The first working day begins the day after your order is placed, and turnaround covers production only — delivery is on top of that.

Standard UK delivery is free on all premium roller banner orders. Collection from our Burnley production facility is also available.

Only in still, dry conditions. Roller banners are designed for indoor use and the base isn't weighted for wind.

How long does it take?
