Flag Bases and Accessories
Bases, spikes, mounts and carry bags for every flag and every surface — delivered free.
Pick the Base, Not the Product
Every flag needs something to hold it up, and the right choice comes down to one question before any other: what are you standing it on?
Work from the surface first, then check it suits your flag size. Everything here fits our Teardrop, Crest, Fin and Feather flags.
Soft Ground — Grass, Soil, Sand
Metal Ground Spike — suits all flag sizes. Drives into the ground and holds firm, which makes it the strongest and cheapest anchoring option there is. If you're on grass, this is almost always the answer.
The only reason not to use a spike is if you can't get one in the ground.
Hard Standing — Pavement, Forecourt, Tarmac
No spike, so the flag needs weight instead.
Cross-Brace & Weight Bag — small and medium flags. A folding frame with a weighted bag over the centre. Packs flat, which makes it the most portable hard-surface option.
Large Cross-Brace & Weight Bag — large and extra-large flags, and works with all sizes.
Basic Parasol Base — small and medium flags. Fill with water or sand. Grey finish. Note the pole doesn't swivel in this one, so the flag won't rotate to face the wind.
Medium Parasol Base — suits all flag sizes. Fill with water or sand. The general-purpose choice, indoors or out.
Large Parasol Base — large and extra-large flags. Greater weight capacity, and the one for exposed positions where wind is a genuine factor.
Indoors
Small Square Base, 7kg — small and medium flags. Compact metal base, indoor use only.
Large Square Base, 10.5kg — all flag sizes. Heavier and more stable, indoor use only.
Both are indoor bases. They rely on their own weight rather than being filled or anchored, and they aren't rated for outdoor wind.
Forecourts and Car Dealerships
Car Foot — all flag sizes. A flat plate that sits under a vehicle wheel, using the car's weight to anchor the flag.
The obvious choice for dealerships, and worth knowing about for anyone on hard standing who doesn't want a base taking up floor space. Works on soft and hard surfaces.
Fixed and Wall Mounted
Angled Wall Mount — all flag sizes. Holds the flag out from the wall at an angle, so it reads to people approaching along the building rather than face-on. Best for shopfronts and entrances.
Straight Wall Mount — all flag sizes. Holds the flag vertically flat against the wall. Indoor or sheltered outdoor use.
Floor Mount — all flag sizes. A fixed mounting point for permanent installations.
Transport and Storage
Flag Carry Bag — fits folded flags and pole sets in all sizes, plus the Cross-Brace, Large Cross-Brace, Metal Ground Spike and Car Foot.
Parasol and square bases are too bulky for the bag and need storing separately.
Two practical points: empty weight bags before packing them, and wrap used spikes or metal parts so soil doesn't transfer onto the flag.

Winter Use
If you're using a water-filled parasol base through the colder months, add salt to the water. Water expands as it freezes, and a frozen base can crack or split.
Sand avoids the problem entirely and is worth considering for a base that stays outside year-round — though it's considerably harder to empty when you want to move it.

FAQs
Which base should I choose?
Start with the surface. Soft ground takes a metal ground spike. Hard standing needs a weighted base — a cross-brace or parasol base. Indoors, use a square base. Then check it's rated for your flag size, since larger flags need more weight.
What's the minimum order?
One. Order a single base or a set.
Are these compatible with all your flags?
Yes — Teardrop, Crest, Fin and Feather, unless stated otherwise against a particular base.
Can I use an indoor base outside?
No. The metal square bases rely on their own weight and aren't rated for outdoor wind. Use a parasol base or a ground spike outdoors.
Water or sand in a parasol base?
Water is easier to fill and empty. Sand is heavier for the same volume and won't freeze, so it suits bases staying out year-round.
Will a water-filled base freeze in winter?
It can. Add salt to the water to lower the freezing point, or use sand instead.
Does the carry bag fit everything?
It fits folded flags and pole sets in all sizes, plus the cross-braces, metal ground spike and car foot. Parasol and square bases are too bulky and need storing separately.
Does the flag swivel in the wind?
On most bases, yes. The Basic Parasol Base is the exception — the pole is fixed rather than free to rotate.
What's the Car Foot for?
It sits under a vehicle wheel and uses the car's weight to anchor the flag. Designed for dealerships and forecourts, and works on both soft and hard surfaces.
Is delivery really free?
Yes. Standard UK delivery is included on all flag accessory orders.
